Aliah University is governed by the West Bengal Government. It is one of the best universities located in Kolkata. Aliah University was established in Kolkata in 2008 by the West Bengal Government, previously known by Kolkata Madrasah, established by Warren Hastings in 1870. Aliah University opened its form for admission in the 2025-26 session. The University offers different types of courses like Arts, Science, Engineering, Nursing, and Management.

form starts from 10/03/2025 and till 20/04/2025( Previously). According to
recent news Now Aliah University has extended the date for fillingt the form.

An admission test will be conducted for UG
programmes in different centres across the state. However, admission tests for
Nursing, B.Ed. and PG programmes will be conducted in the Kolkata centre only.
As per the Date, Time, & Venue mentioned in the admit card, candidates have
to appear for the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT-2025).

Hostel: The university
currently has one G+19 Boys' Hostel that can house 661 boarders. There is one
G+13 girls' hostel that can accommodate 437 boarders. The G+9 Hostel for Girls
on Park Circus Campus can accommodate up to 208 female students.
Library
Modern academic materials are available
both online and offline at Aliah University's library. The university libraries
offer scholars, students, officers, and non-teaching staff extensive access to
books, journals, periodicals, white papers, reports, e-journals/online
databases, e-books, and dissertations. They also have a vast collection of
78,000 books in many fields. While the library at the Park Circus site covers
the collection on the humanities, social sciences, nursing, law, education,
etc., the library at the Newtown campus focuses on STEM (Engineering &
Technology, Management, Pure Science, and Biological Sciences). Located on the
Taltala campus, the historic heritage library features a genuine collection of
works on Islamic studies and theology. The campus libraries at Park Circus and
New Town are both automated.
