Aliah University was established in Kolkata in 2008. The university offers different kinds of courses like Science, Arts, Statistics, Engineering, and Nursing.

History of Aliah University

Aliah University is one of the best universities in West Bengal. It’s a new university established in 2008 but it has a glorious history. Aliah University traces its roots to the Calcutta Madrasah, established in October 1780 by Warren Hastings, the British Governor-General of the East India Company, near Dharmatala(Now Taltala Campus) in Calcutta (now Kolkata). The institution was set up at the request of Muslim scholars to provide education to Muslim youth, primarily to prepare them for administrative and judicial roles in the colonial government.

Admission: For admission, this university student should give the AUAT (Aliah University Admission Test) examination. The AUAT Examination is an Entrance Examination conducted by Aliah University in June (Approximately). For Engineering students, it's different.

Admission 2025: For 2025-26, Aliah University opens their portal for their students. Students can fill out the form for admission by using their official website https://www.aliah.ac.in/.

Campuses: Aliah University has 3 campuses, one for Arts, one for Science, and another for Arabic, Urdu, and Islamic Theology

1. New Town Campus:

The new campus of Aliah University is located in 
Action Area II, New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal, 700160.

Departments: On this campus, students study Engineering, Science & Statistics.

Hostel: It is the main campus of the university with the largest building among the two other campuses. The campus has the biggest academic building and two big hostels, one for Boys and another for girls.

Administration: The Vice Chancellor of the university is sitting here; all important decisions and meetings related to the University happen in the New Town campus.

2.Park Circus Campus:

Location: Park Circus Campus. Park Circus Campus. Address: 17, Gorachand Road, Kolkata- 700 014

Departments: Basically, in the Park Circus campus, students studied Arts, Nursing & Management.

Hostel: Park Circus Campus has only one Girls' Hostel, where basically the majority of Nursing students stay.

Administration: Only the Registrar of the university, sitting here for any important work register should go to the Newtown Campus.

3. Taltala Campus

Taltala Campus is the heritage campus of Aliah University.

Here you get the best faculty, and for the Newtown campus, you get a hostel on campus. For Park Circus campus students difficult to get a hostel.
